Description
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Center
The San Francisco Bay Area Center for Cognitive Therapy has been committed to providing empirically-supported, ethical, and compassionate care to the Bay Area community for the past 20 years. We are a group of 7 psychologists trained to provide high-quality cognitive behavioral therapy in a private practice setting. We are not a Crisis Center. We treat a wide range of problems, including depression, anxiety disorders (OCD, panic, phobias), social anxiety, executive functioning challenges and insomnia. We also serve as a source of high-quality professional training for clinicians, and disseminate information about CBT to both consumers and professionals.
Individual Therapy in a Private Practice Setting
SFBACCT is an outpatient therapy center, providing cognitive behavioral therapy to individuals living and working in the Bay Area. We do not provide any residential or Intensive Outpatient services at this time. Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) is a practical, present-focused approach to treatment that focuses on the interconnections between our thoughts, behaviors, and moods. The way we think affects how we feel and act, and our actions affect how we think and feel. CBT is empirically-based, meaning that research shows it to be effective. Many empirically-supported treatments now fit under the CBT umbrella. We are a group of six psychologists: Dr. Joan Davidson, Dr. Michael Tompkins, Dr. Daniela Owen, Dr. Jonathan Barkin, Dr. Monique Thompson, and Emily Berner.
