Description
We help our patients cope with the isolation that comes with depression and mental illness. By coupling the latest technology with support and education, our goal is to provide patients with sustainable long-term recovery from depression.
Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is an FDA-approved method for treating depression.
The patient’s neural pathways responsible for mood are stimulated by a magnetic field created by coils in the machine. The machine is placed over the patient’s head while they sit in a comfortable chair. The effects of TMS are long-lasting and have been tested and proven safe.
If you have undergone shock therapy or electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) without success, this doesn’t eliminate you from TMS treatment.
TMS requires no anesthesia and is a relatively simple procedure. A magnetic field generated from the coil is strategically placed on the patient’s head, then calibrated for each individual’s needs. The magnetic field passes through the skull and creates a current that affects the action of neurons in the brain responsible for facilitating mood.
Long-term relief from a single cycle of treatment is very possible.
