Family Program
Montecatini Eating Disorder Treatment Center in Carlsbad, California, serves adolescent girls and women ages 16-65 who are struggling with eating disorders and co-occurring conditions. At Montecatini, we recognize the important role of family in many of our clients’ eating disorder recovery journeys. We also understand that family members may need their own access to community and connection as they work through the challenges of supporting someone who has an eating disorder. As part of our programming at Montecatini, we provide specialized family support services for people who may need them. These services include our family and friends weekend, which we offer every six weeks. This intensive program is three days long and includes educational presentations and process groups for family and friends who have a loved one at our treatment center. We also provide a monthly family and friends support group, a free program for anyone who has a loved one who is struggling with an eating disorder.
Alumni Support
At Montecatini, we value the role of empathy and shared experiences in eating disorder recovery. We also recognize that recovery from an eating disorder can be an ongoing process that continues beyond a client’s time at our treatment center. To foster an ongoing sense of community and offer a source of support for current and former clients, we provide a wide range of alumni engagement opportunities. These services can include twice-weekly alumni support groups as well as quarterly alumni events, check-ins with our alumni coordinator, and opportunities for alumni to contribute to Montecatini’s social media and website content. We also offer alumni speaking opportunities as part of our program, and we encourage members of our alumni community to remain connected with and engaged in our activities.
Our Treatment Center
At Montecatini, we believe that reconnection — with oneself, with others, and with one’s community — can be a key component of eating disorder recovery. To support our clients on their journeys to long-term healing, we offer a variety of treatment modalities that aim to address clients’ needs holistically and through a diverse range of therapeutic approaches. At our residential eating disorder treatment center, our interventions may include therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). We also offer medical care, medication management services, and a wellness program, as well as individual, family, and group therapies based on each client’s unique needs. Our multidisciplinary team at Montecatini includes licensed marriage and family therapists, licensed clinical social workers, certified eating disorder therapists, registered dietitians, psychiatrists, psychologists, and physician assistants. Our staff members are passionate and committed to the collaborative and personalized process of working with clients to help them rediscover hope and joy in their lives.
