Treatment Philosophy
Upon entering the First Light residential program, each client is assigned a primary therapist (Case Manager). Together they assess personal strengths and problem areas, structure short and long term goals, and develop an individualized treatment plan which is evaluated weekly throughout the course of treatment.
Living in a community with other people that share a common illness creates a powerful bond between members. That bond can be a source of inspiration to get well. Learning to cooperate with others and to be socially tolerant eventually leads to thinking of others and their wellbeing. This shift from selfish, self-centered behavior to performing selfless acts for others is one of the gifts available in a residential treatment environment.
