About Us
At The Fellowship Center, we believe in and embrace what is called the “social model recovery.” Social model recovery got its beginnings from the 12-step program Alcoholics Anonymous. It is based on the concept of mutual self-help. The main components are experiential learning in a social-community environment on a continuum of recovery. Residents learn new, sober behaviors by modeling the actions of their sober peers and staff. With support and counseling, they gradually re-learn how to handle the daily challenges of life free of alcohol and drugs. When a resident leaves TFC, he is prepared to face life “in the real world” sober.
