Our private hospital campus is set up to treat our patients in three different units, each one containing court yards, laundry facilities, and patient lounges. At Pacific Grove we believe in a whole person approach to treatment, which allows our patients to not only heal, but also find a balance in all areas of their life. Additionally, our patients receive ongoing support that helps them continue to heal and prevent relapse. We know that entering a treatment program can be difficult and we are grateful to be a part of your recovery process. It is our mission to be recognized for the passion of our people who provide quality, innovative care to the patient’s we serve in our community.
Addiction Treatment & Detoxification at Pacific Gr
For patients who come to Pacific Grove dependent on drugs or alcohol, we provide medically monitored detoxification to help ensure patient comfort and safety, while gradually eliminating toxins from the body. Once detox is complete our patients are able to fully engage in treatment. In addition to individual, family, and group counseling sessions patients will participate in our 12-step recovery program where they will attend regular 12-step meetings. Upon completion of our inpatient program patients often step down to our partial hospitalization program (PHP), which is designed to treat the continued needs of our patients while at the same time allowing them to integrate back into home and work life. Finally, we also offer an intensive outpatient program which offers the same services of our PHP, but is held less often.
Signs and Symptoms of Addiction
It doesn’t matter why an individual began using drugs or drinking alcohol, with prolonged use theses substances can lead to a number of negative consequences, including addiction. Both drugs and alcohol can wreak havoc on an individual and if not treated early enough can end in death. Substance abuse is not always easy to spot because most individuals go to great links to hide their use and will deny that they have a problem if confronted. Some of the most noticeable symptoms of drug abuse affect the mind and the body including things such as inability to focus and form coherent thoughts. Individuals with substance abuse problems may also experience behavioral changes such as increased aggression, lethargy, depression, and changes in social networks. As the individual becomes more dependent on drugs and/or alcohol they will begin to have difficulty maintaining responsibilities at work, school, and at home. Financial problems may arise causing an individual to engage in illegal activities to get there next fix resulting in problems with the law. If not properly treated these symptoms will only get worse and in severe cases can end in death due to overdose or suicide.
