Description
Our San Diego facility provides a day-treatment program that offers partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient levels of care for adolescents between the ages of 11 and 17. We focus on assisting clients in gaining insight into their individual mental health challenges as well as supporting them and their families in developing new and healthy patterns of thinking and living in their home, educational, and social settings.
Conditions treated include depression, anxiety, attachment disorders, behavioral challenges, autism, bipolar disorder, suicidal thoughts and behavior, and more. The program is administered by six Masters-level clinicians who conduct individual, family, and group therapies aimed at helping clients to develop healthy coping skills. These may involve cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), education to promote emotional literacy, conflict resolution, experiential therapy, mindfulness, creative arts, and process group. We also hold a weekly multi-family group session in which all clients and their families are led through therapeutic activities that improve communication, empathy, and insight in the family unit. Medication management and consultation is offered as needed. The staff also provides educational coordination while young patients are in treatment.
The San Diego facility is centrally located in the Mira Mesa community at the corner of Scranton Drive and Oberline Drive with easy access to the 805 freeway. We are housed in a professional complex across from amenities that include restaurants and cafes.
